| The Destrehan Booster Club fields more than 8 girls basketball teams each season, involving more than 80 players. | ||
| Registration for age groups 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 begins in late August and cost $40. Following the registration process, team drafts are conducted. Practice begins September 1st and the regular season game schedule begins shortly after. The season concludes with a post-season parish tournament. | ||
| Registration for the 5-6 and 13-14 age groups begin in late October. No draft is held since there is usually only one team in this age group. Practice begins in November. The regular season game schedule begins in late January. The season concludes with a post-season parish tournament. | ||
| The goal height is adjusted to 8-1/2' for the 6-7-8 and 9-10 girls and to 9' for 11-12 girls. The 13-14 girls play at regulation height. Player height requirements are 5 feet, 6-1/2 inches for 9-10 girls and 5 feet, 9-1/2 inches for 11-12 girls. | ||
| There are separate parish/recreation and franchise/competitive divisions for boys basketball (age groups 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14) in St. Charles Parish. The franchise/competitive division is for the more serious and competitive player. The St. Charles Parish Recreation Department conducts evaluations of players interested in playing in the franchise/competitive division. | ||
