Cypress Bowl

 The Cypress Bowl is Destrehan Booster Club’s football fundraiser. The Cypress Bowl is our Homecoming. Visiting teams from the surrounding parishes including St. Charles parish participate in this fun filled day for youth football in our community. The 2008 Cypress Bowl will be held at the Ormond Field on Sunday, ??? 

A queen and her maids are selected from participating DBC Cheerleaders.  Cheerleaders that are interested in participating in the court activities are asked to raise money from raffle sales, candle sales, or donations. The cheerleader raising the most money will be selected as queen and the maids will be selected in that order. The court is strictly voluntary. The court is asked to wear their Sunday’s best and football players who escort the maids and queen will be asked to wear their football uniforms. Once the court has been selected, the queen and her maids will need to select a football player of her choice to escort her across the field during our homecoming celebration. The queen will be presented around the football field in a convertible and then presented after her maids have been presented across the field.  

Donations are always needed and welcomed. The following are a list of items that are needed for this fun filled day: 

1.                  Convertible for about 30 minutes

2.                  Flowers for the court

3.                  Sashes for the court

4.                  Crown for the queen

5.                  gifts for girls in the court

6.                  gifts for boys in the court

7.                  DJ

8.                  Gift Baskets for raffles

9.                  Door prizes for players

10.              T-shirts for players (need sponsors for back of shirts)

11.              Arches for the court to walk through

12.              Visiting football teams

13.              Volunteers

14.              Gift certificates for raffles 

The 2008 Cypress Bowl will be Sunday, ??? at VALERO Park.

Cypress Bowl and Court Polices and Procedures

    The Cypress Bowl Coordinator will answer any questions regarding the Cypress Bowl.

 Cypress  Bowl:

The Cypress Bowl is our Homecoming and a football fund raiser to support the Destrehan Booster Club.  All Destrehan Football Teams are required to play.  The Court will be selected from the Cheerleaders.  So please mark your calendars and come out and support Destrehan youth football and cheerleaders on Sunday, ???.

 Court:

1.         You must be a cheerleader to be eligible to participate in the court.

2.         Cheerleaders must raise money and the one that brings in the most money will be selected as the Cypress Bowl Queen.  Each maid will follow in place after that.

3.         Monies can be raised by selling candy, gift baskets, raffle tickets, pledges, etc.   

4.         Each court maid or queen will select a football player of their choice to escort them across the field.

     5.    Court will need to wear their Sunday's best.

     6.    Court must participate in three practices prior to the Cypress Bowl date.

     7.    The court is strictly voluntary – you do not have to participate.
